Fishing in Runescape is exactly what fishing is in real life. You need to remember these 4 methods of fishing.
1) Nets (huge or small)
2) Use Bait (fishing rod)
3) With Feathers as Bait (fly fishing rod),
4) A Lobster Pot (for lobsters)

To able to use the fishing and fly fishing rod, you got to use baits. However, fishing nets, lobster pots and harpoons, there are no baits to use.
For Runescape fishing rods, you will need to have regular bait. You have to get all the items in Port Sarim before you begin fishing. Other than feathers which will be use for fly fishing rod, regular baits will go with regular fishing rods.
