Hey, MY xbox 360 has a problem when ever I load it I cant see the screen only audio. Its always Black. So I want to know how to get the Red Ring of Death(RROD). So that I can send it in for that 3 year warrenty thing, Yes this does work I just need to know how to get the RROD. HELP!

the rRod is cause whan the cpu and gpu inside the xbox 360 heat up and melt. this only happen if you play the 360 for a long time and never let it cool down.

omg my xbox 360 has the Ring of Death AGAIN! this is the 2nd time.. the first time i sent it back was in october 2007, i dont wanna try all that towel stuff, heard it messes up your system, and if i send it back will they give me something? i read somewhere they give you a game or something..

ok call microsoft i think u might need to have warranty they'll ask you some questions and then send you a box you take yr harddrive off and put the 360 in the box ship it to microsoft they test it if its messed they send u a new one my friend got 1 month xbox live free and then they send him a 360 ( a new one) he came home and they had send him another so now he has 2 360's that work for some reason they made a mistake sending him 2 but u might get lucky and get a game

Well I bought my xbox 360 like last xmas, and I barely use it. But then I got the ring of death a year later, I dont have insurance or either the proof of purchase…. I really dont know how to get this system fixed grrrr!! Well do I contact xbox or what?? Does anyone know what to do so I can get my 360 back and going?? Since you don't have any proof of when you purchased the 360, MS will fix it up until Nov. 22, 2008, or 3 years after the 360's launch.

So, all you need to do is just call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and explain that you have the red ring of death, and MS should send you a box that you put your 360 in, sans face plate and hard drive. Ship it back to MS, and MS will fix it for you.

Why do all these people sell these Xbox 360's with the ring of Death, on eBay when they can get them fixed for fee by Microsoft?
Xbox extended the warranty for 3 years on Boxes with the Ring of Death problem.

You can get them fixed, with the warranty. My guess is the warranty is expired on those ones for sale, and the owner doesn't want to pay to have them repaired.

The only compensation Microsoft offered about the red rings was expanding the length of the warranty by one year, but once it expires you are out of luck and the repair money is out of your pocket.

Hi Guys, I recently got the red ring of death but was able to fix it with the "towel trick." I am trying to get the red ring again but I am running into problems. Every time I try to "overheat" my 360, I keep getting the two red rings (which means my xbox is overheating). How can I prevent the 2 rings and get to the three red rings? Thanks folks.

It's sort of luck of the draw there. I assume you're trying to get 3 red lights to have it repaired under warranty. Call up XBox customer support and explain you get 3 red lights sometimes, and 2 red lights others. Tell them it is well-ventilated, blah blah blah. Tell them at the moment you have three red lights on the console and the light on the power brick is green. They will setup a repair and send you out a box for the free repair order.

How much will it cost me for Microsoft to fix three red ring of death on my Xbox 360? My Xbox 360 is from 2005 and I've heard they will fix it for free, is this true?

If it is under warranty there is not charge to fix the console, if it is out of warranty the standard fee to repair the console is $99.00

If this is the first repair do not expect any discount on the repair.

However with the repair of the console if you do pay the $99.00 you will have a 3 year warranty on the console if you have the issue with the 3 red lights once again and it will be a no charge to you if it needs fixed. You can also purchase the extended warranty.

It is up to you if you wish to try the towel trick but I do not suggest it.

Is there a red LCD light there? Also what is the cause of it? Ive barely had my Xbox 360 Elite for not even 3 months. 2 Days ago, whenever I start playing I can't play for more than 1 hour without it turning off. Then I have to wait like 2 hours for it to cool off, when it wasn't even heated. So plz answer my question helpfully but not too long.

i semily agree with the guy two "floors" above me but completely disagree with the guy right above me

first of all specifically the nyko intercoller, has a five year warranty, which is even better than the x box warranty, so if it damages your x box, take it to them, i mean the guy above me is right, x box wont take it, but nyko will, so i see it like a steal, 5 extra years of warranty!

and its red because they have a red LED lighe in there, just like a stop light, and the reason they choose red, is because red is kinda like a warning light, stop light, you know what i mean.

over the holidays, i was always on my x box, with the nyko cooler on, even when i went to go do stuff i left it on, the only time i turned it off was when i went to bed.

make sure all the chords are in the correct places and tightly secured, sometimes the three rings just appear because of accidentally unplugging the xbox AV cable, or power chord

My 360 went out and it is only a few days until the release of Halo 3. How long will it take for it to be repaired by Microsoft? I really want to play Halo 3!

Hey I've heard so much about this "ring of death" on the Xbox 360 I need to know what's about. What is it and how you can prevent it?

The ring of death is three flashing red lights in the first, third, and fourth quadrants of the ring of light. The easiest way to prevent it is to place the console in an open space with plenty of room in the back.
