How do i FIX the xbox 360 "RING OF DEATH" by myself?
Posted by admin | Under xbox 360 ring of death Tuesday Sep 23, 2008I have a red light flashing in controller port 1, 3, and 4. Is there a way and how do i fix it without sending my 360 to microsoft.
dude there's no way of fixing it. I had the rod about 3 months ago and spent 3 days trying to fix it, but when I did do the towel trick and other stuff it worked, but the rod came back in like 15 minutes.
So just send it in to Microsoft, you don't pay for anything and you get a free month of live when it's returned. Don't call them, just go to the xbox website, click on support and then repair agent, and follow steps.
It took them 3 weeks to return mine, and it works fine now
how can you solve the xbox 360 ring of death?
Posted by admin | Under xbox 360 ring of death Saturday Sep 20, 2008i just got the ring of death on my xbox 360 elite, i was just wondering if there is any way to solve it.
1. unplug all of cables plus hard drive remove cooler. wait 10 min then plug cables back in no disk no hard drive no cooler.
2. if that no work, look at the power box (black rectangular cube that joins the outlet to you xbox) when the xbox is turned off it should be orange and when you turn it on it should turn green.
If the light when turned on is red, orange,or not lit then remove all the plugs from the wall wait a couple hours and plug it all back in should be fine, if that dosent work then the voltage in the wall is srewed.
If the light on the power box turns green when turned on but still has the red rings of death, then call tech support 1800-4-my-xbox and they will send you a box free of charge and shipping both ways and they will repair your xbox with a special "zephyr" chip so the problem will never happen again. they also give you (if you ask on the phone) a free month of xbox live for your inconvience.
Hope this helps
Check the mail: Okami covers finally ship
Posted by admin | Under xbox problems Wednesday Sep 17, 2008Filed under: Nintendo Wii Just in time for you to have traded the game in three weeks ago, the replacement covers for the Wii version of Okami have finally shipped. If you can cast your minds back to late April, youâ??ll recall when the video game blogging gods tricked Capcom into accidentally hiding the IGN logo on the box art for the game. Though Capcom made quick work of announcing a fix, the replacement covers havenâ??t been so speedy, but, thankfully, jilted fans should be receiving them an

Xbox 360 Farewell - Red Ring of Death (RROD)
Posted by admin | Under xbox ring of death Wednesday Sep 17, 2008
On February 15th, tragedy struck as my beloved Xbox 360 fell victim to the Red Ring of Death (RROD).
The purpose of this video is not to bash Microsoft. I primarily made this to brush up on my video editing. Still, I love my 360, and I look forward to the arrival of my replacement console. In fact, I have been quite impressed by Microsoft’s devotion in providing replacement consoles in what must have been a substantial allocation of resources.
However, the fact of the matter is that these consoles were hastily pushed through the design/testing phase of development to meet marketing goals and Microsoft has yet to produce a stable and reliable motherboard.
I took exceptional care of my system. As you can see it’s sitting out in the open on a cool tile floor (not on carpet or in an enclosed space).
Microsoft has announced plans to release a new motherboard with a new 65nm GPU alongside the recently-added 65nm CPU. Let’s hope they finally fix the RROD issue once and for all.
On a side note, when I dropped my return box off at UPS, the clerk instantly recognized the packaging and said that they get 3-4 return drop-offs a day…

XBOX 360 ring of death!!! Should I have it repaired?
Posted by admin | Under xbox 360 ring of death Wednesday Sep 17, 2008I got my Xbox 360 Pro console over 1 year ago. I heard that these consoles were manufactured with many flaws, but I bought it anyway. Now, I recently got the 3/4 red ring of death. So, I turned off the console, removed the game disk, and let it sit for 10 minutes, then I turned on the Xbox again. This time I left it on for about 20 minutes, and there was no ring of death anymore. I moved my Xbox from an open area to a moderately enclosed space recently, so do you think that this is a factor in the ring of death? Also, do you think I should just wait and see if this happens again, look into getting my Xbox repaired, or getting a new Xbox? Also, how much do repaires cost? Thank you so much for your answers!
i would get it repaired. BUT, if you haven't had your xbox 360 over two years it still has a warranty on it and you can get a whole new one for free!!!
What are the quadrants of the xbox 360 ring of death ?
Posted by admin | Under xbox 360 ring of death Sunday Sep 14, 2008I'm trying to find out how serious it is
The ring of death is a red light made of the four xbox 360 quadrants. It is minorly serious or can be Major. It could be because the AV/HDMI cable is disconnected, or the Xbox 360 has locked up. If you are unsure or worried, contact Microsoft for help. Or it could be bacuse of overheat. Dont leave your Xbox 360 on for to long, or it will melt, if It melts, you have lost your hard drive. You can by 64mb chips for the 360 if it does break down to save games. If you save it on the hard drive, it will only corrupt. Each one of the flashing lights represents a problem, if they are all flashing its a problem in the Hard drive. Good luck.
